Title: One big atlas or many small atlases, what is better?

In my unity iPhone game I have lot of sprites and animations. I have created 2048 x 2048 atlas and few smaller atlases.

My question is should I keep 2048 atlas or break it in to smaller atlases.

What is the most efficient way?
I have noticed it take some time to load my scene. So I wanted to improve loading time …

If your 2048 is full, breaking it up into smaller atlases isn't going to improve load times, unless you split everything up into multiple scenes and load additively.

1x 2048 = 4x 1024 atlases. You'd imagine if you filled a 2048 atlas, you'll fill up 4x 1024s as well, so its pointless really.
