The Dialogue System for Unity now supports 2D Toolkit UIs. You can get it on the Unity Asset Store (https://www.assetstore.unity3d.com/#/content/11672).

The Dialogue System is a complete, end-to-end solution for conversations, barks, and quests. Features include:
