Support / Fractucing/destroying add-on for 2D Toolkit?

In my game I'd like the ships to break into a couple of smaller pieces upon destruction that fly in all directions and fade out. I've found the plugin Desctructible 2D which seems to be what I need (and more) but I have two questions:

 - The author of the plugin has pointed out that the plugin may not work with 2D Toolkit - anyone has experience with this?
 - And also, I'd really love to avoid having to buy this plugin, because one: due to currency differences it's not as cheap as I'd like it to be and two: it has way more functionality than I need. So if there is some free alternative for 2D Toolkit, or cheaper alternative which will work, it would also be cool.

Support / Easy method to fit UI Text Input collider from code

Is there any easy method to refit the collider of UI Text Input from code, the same way you can do in Unity Editor GUI? Of course, technically speaking this function lies under the UI Item script but I haven't found such method there either.

Actually, now that I look at it, is it the case that Sprite Collection creates its own Atlas? If that's the case, then it's uber awesome!

Is it currently somehow possible to somehow prepare a sprite sheet/sprite atlas, with sprites of different sizes? By any I mean either manually in the gui, or by importing some kind of file.
