Showcase / Flappy bird tutorial with 2dtk 2.3 SPANISH ONLY
« on: March 13, 2014, 09:22:05 am »
Hi there,

For all spaniards around here (or people who understand spanish), this is my latest video tutorial. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MBM1EaIopzM

As usual a bunch of handful advice about how to use "properly" unity and 2dtk.

Lo dicho arriba, primera parte de como crear un flappy bird con 2dtk y unity

Enjoy :)

P.D: unikron if you feel this post doesn't belong to this section feel free to remove it :)

Thanks a lot, just as I thought, something like this cannot be a bug.. too big to be real :P

Ok then, it's time to organize the assets :)

Hi,

I'm trying to use a sliced sprite but I saw that it doesn't work with a diced sprite. Is this a bug or it's the normal behaviour? (version 2.0 hotfix 2)

Documentation doesn't say anything about that limit, so I'm not sure if it's a bug or just the way it works :)

I have to ask, do you have any estimated date for the 2.1 release?, the new camera settings could be useful for my next set of tutorials (this time in english hehehe)

Hmmm just as I thought, well I suppose I have to figure out some kind of crappy technique to do this without the classic render to texture :)

Hi there,

I saw the sprite.color, but this changes the color of the whole sprite, I'm trying to paint just a bit (imagine a workshop figure to paint). The only thing that comes to my head is a render to texture, but this is a pro feature.

Is there something we can do with 2dtoolkit without that render to texture?

Thanks :)

I didn't said anything about 2dtoolkit, what I'm saying is that unikron doesn't need to create "super mario platformer" specific tutorials, you can create ANY type of game with 2dtoolkit, it's up to you to learn how to do that.
2dtoolkit it's just a tool, like a drill, you need to learn how to drill

I'm betting people buy this with unity looking for a 2d platformer solution so having a scene with how to control a player with a few animations, a rigidbody, and transitioning between states would make this tool even more popular. It's so incredibly hard to find a good RB platformer example that actually works well.

That's the problem, people don't understand that this is a tool to create 2d games in general, but this is not for platformer games specifically, so I find that kind of tutorials pretty useless. Besides, there's some good platformer kits on the assets store, and making them work with 2dtoolkit it's just a piece of cake

And right now that is free (the basic licences), there's no turning back in keeping 3.5.7

Unless you can find someone who can translate the video, the automatic translators will not translate that properly, just a few bits will be translated, but there is sooo much content and explanations there... hehehehe.

Sadly for me, I'm not seeing too much interest, neither on the spaniards side nor the english side, a few years ago I did some tutorials (in english) and I've received a lot of feedback. I suppose that today there's too much information and no one cares about tutorials at all.

Thanks unikron :) the more tutorials, the more people will be seduced to the dark side of the force, errrrr I mean the 2dtoolkit LOL

If I receive enough feedback I will create another branch of those tutorials in english :)

Hi there,

I'm starting a series of small video tutorials offering tips about 2dtoolkit and creating a mini "super mario clone". The tutorials are in spanish and for spaniards or people that understand spanish. I decided to do this due the lack of cool tutorials in my native language. And I know there's a bunch of spaniards in this forum hehehehe.

You can get them on youtube or my blog, http://eskemagames.blogspot.com.es/

Probably in a future I will translate them to english if I get enough feedback, but for now...

Have fun, Alex
