« on: October 21, 2013, 01:16:04 am »

U2DEX streamlines areas of the Unity Editor for 2D development, further turbocharging your 2D workflow.

(At a glance)
  • Full Unity 5 compatibility!
  • Grid tool - Aligning objects has never been easier!
  • Snap tool - Snap objects to numerical units, or to a Grid component's Grid if you have one enabled!
  • Applicable class editor - Apply the 2D Transform Inspector to virtually any class with a name!
  • 2D Toolkit support!
  • Orthello support!
  • Enhanced Size and Scale - Use the underlying object's scale, if possible. Preserve your dynamic batching with no extra work!
  • Enhanced Rotation - Use Degrees, or Radians, and watch as U2DEX converts between the two in real time!
  • Compatible with Unity Free and Pro
  • FULL source code access!

And the best news? It's only fifteen bucks ($15). In the words of MAD magazine: "cheap!"

More of a visual person? Here's a few screenshots:

We chose to officially support 2D Toolkit out-of-the-box because it's pretty much (to us at least) the de facto 2D solution for Unity (and because it's super awesome).

U2DEX is designed to go hand-in-hand with 2D Toolkit (or Orthello, even) and deliver an even more streamlined 2D editing experience.  It integrates seamlessly, so once it's imported it "just works".  You can customize nearly everything, of course, but if you just want a solution that works out-of-the-box, this fits the bill.

It's also worth noting that you don't even have to have a 2D solution to use this.  For example, if you want your Unity Cameras to be streamlined for 2D, you can apply U2DEX to the Camera just by typing in the class name.

Questions/Comments are more than welcome, and we're eager to hear everyone's thoughts!
