Wohooo! Awesome! Gonna upgrade today :) And good work for the v2!

By  the way, any chance you'll make v2 into a DLL, so it can be used from external libraries? :)

EDIT: no issues updating from v1.91 final (on Unity 4.1.0), and the "create box collider" button works like a charm

Wooooah!!! I'm so happy about it! And you're incredibly kind in giving it for free to existing users! :) Though I have to say that me too (like DannyB) would definitely be willing to pay an additional price for it.

How do you plan to manage events? If possible, can I suggest also having a global GUIManager who sends an event each time a button is clicked/pressed/rolledOver/toggled/etc? In my 2D Toolkit GUI framework I'm using something like that (other than regular events from single buttons), and it's very useful.

Happy to know that HOTween helps :)

We're now working on a much improved version of Stackout, for Android and iOS, so I suppose an Ouya port is definitely a good idea (and thanks for the suggestion, I hadn't thought about it) :)

Thanks :) And no affiliation with Wonderputt, but it's the second time I see it mentioned in relation to Stackout, and the first time I saw it I found it absolutely wonderful, so I'm happy that Stackout reminds of it :)

Ahaha that's a perfect presentation for your game! "Another game about a sport I know nothing about": fantastic! I hope to see that phrase in the future trailer :D

What new game (if it's not too soon to talk about that)? Wrestle Jump is so simple yet so addictive that it's pure genius (I'm usually an enthusiastic guy, but in this case I'm overly impressed), so now I'm supercurious about other games :)

Thanks oivoi :) And unikron, waiting is good: we're almost done with a more polished and balanced version to put on Kongregate (within a week, hopefully - and then we'll push it a little more with more features and nicer stuff) :)

Woooo! I played it! It's simply awesome! I'm serious here: it's incredibly fun! :) But it screams for a level editor! Any plans to do that?

Yey! We won the contest :) Now Fabian gets a Unity 4 Pro license (which I already have), and I get a Rain{one} AI license. Hooray! :)

Thanks BumpkinRich. Those are simple particles that use a texture that looks like a block: Fabian came out with that trick and I have to admit it really works nicely :)

Aha, I hate Christmas, but in spite of that I find your game really nice! Slick graphics and the gameplay looks very fun :)

Showcase / Stackout - a game for GPI's retro Unity Contest
« on: January 07, 2013, 04:43:45 pm »
Hello,

Fabian Smith (concept and graphics), Luigi di Guida (music and sfx), and I (Daniele Giardini - concept and coding) just released the free version of Stackout, a game made for GPI's retro Unity Contest.

The contest was about making a game inspired by a retro classic, and we chose Breakout. Fabian added a lot of verve with the circus-retro style he created, Luigi created a suprising relaxed and original score, and we implemented an original and somehow "different" gameplay. The game is 3D, but all the GUI and the main menu use the always awesome 2D Toolkit (along with my own open source 2D Toolkit library, which allows to implement buttons and toggles very easily) :) Here is a video of the contest release.

You can also download and play it (Win/Mac) from here.

Now we're relaxing a while, and then back to work, to implement a lot more stuff and then think about different ways to release it.

Here you can see all the finalists (meaning all the teams that managed to complete their game in time ;))
